Industrial Land Use Study

Central Otago District Council (CODC) and Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) are undertaking an Industrial Land Study to better understand current and future industrial land needs across both districts. The study is looking at:

• Current industrial land and premises requirements
• Future business growth and land needs
• Infrastructure, access, and operational constraints
• Emerging trends and opportunities
• The types of industrial land and premises that may be required over the next 30 years

To support this work, we would like to hear from our Central Otago industrial businesses and stakeholders to gain your views on what’s needed and what is working well.

Why are we seeking input?

We are seeking practical input from businesses, landowners, developers, infrastructure providers, industry representatives and other organisations with an interest in industrial land across the two districts. Your input will help inform future industrial land planning and ensure the needs and perspectives of Central Otago industrial stakeholders are understood and reflected in the study.

How will the information be used?

All engagement findings will be summarised and reported in an anonymised form, and individual participants and commercially sensitive information will not be attributed without permission. The Property Group (TPG) is working with both councils to gather insights from businesses, landowners, developers, infrastructure providers, and industry representatives.
