Project Update - 30 July 2024

Vincent Community Board approved an amended design, which shifts the plaza area into the carpark and reincorporates the pontoon. This amended design provides a more collaborative and safe space for a variety of user groups.

The immediate next steps for the project would include securing the final funding. To date, a total of $1,273,948 funding of the $1.46m required has been secured, with half from external funding such as the Tourism Infrastructure Fund, Central Lakes Trust and Lotteries Heritage and Environment funding. The Council had previously approved $650,000, consulted on in the 2021-31 Long-term Plan.
