Background

The Central Otago Museums Trust (COMT) was established in 2021 to bring together and promote the network of the five public Central Otago museums (Cromwell, Clyde, Central Stories - Alexandra, Teviot District - Roxburgh, Maniototo Early Settlers - Naseby) to the wider community.

The COMT is currently undertaking an independent review of its role and operation. The purpose of the review is to gather feedback on:

  • How effectively COMT is currently operating
  • The value and impact of its work
  • The future structure and priorities for the Central Otago museum network.

Who is leading this review?

Central Otago Museum Trust has engaged Jan Hudson to lead the review. Central Otago District Council is supporting this review process. If you have any questions about the survey or the wider review process, please contact Jan Hudson at janhudson@xtra.co.nz or by phone on 0275 388 411.

How to get involved

There are two different surveys, one for those who are directly involved in the COMT museum network and one for those who work with organisations that support the COMT museum network. Both perspectives are important to consider as part of this review. Feedback on this project opens Friday, 2 October and closes on Monday, 19 October 2026.

We take your privacy seriously. Any personal details you provide will remain confidential. We do not intend to proactively publish any verbatim comments we receive in response to this survey. The results will be collated in a summary report that will include key themes that come through in the comments.
